School Counselling Service – Mrs Nazia Khaliq

I’m the School Counsellor here at Stockport Academy. My role is to support students who may be finding things difficult – whether that’s worries about school, friendships, family, or personal challenges.

Counselling offers a safe and confidential space where young people can talk, explore their feelings, and find new ways of coping. I work closely with students to help them build confidence, manage their emotions, and feel more settled both in school and at home.

Parents and staff can refer a student for counselling if they feel extra support would help, and students are also welcome to ask for counselling themselves.

My aim is to provide a friendly and approachable service where every young person feels listened to, understood, and supported.
