What are Co-curricular activities?
Co-curricular activities provide students with opportunities and experience beyond the curriculum they study.
They develop students as a whole, building confidence, happiness, health and a desire to discover new experiences.
There are around 70 activities that your son or daughter can participate in either at lunchtime or after school -
offering the experience and skills to help them get ahead and deal with the challenges of modern life.
When do Co-curricular activities run?
Activities run throughout the school term, during Period 6, with a number of clubs also running during lunch. This term's timetable can be viewed via the link above.
Why get involved in Co-curricular activities?
Co-curricular activities help your child to make new friends and will provide them with opportunities they may have never had before.
The activities they participate in will help keep their mind and body active and healthy, and perhaps even enable them to develop skills and confidence that will be useful throughout the rest of their lives and support them in the working world.
If they want to become a Gold Tie or Prefect, or even apply for university, then participation in this element of school and representing the Stockport Academy within certain activities will help their application stand out.
You never know - they may try something they eventually become the world's best in!
We also offer a reward trip for all those students who have attended a certain anumber of activities. These trips have previously included ChillfactorE, Jump Nation, Party in the Park, Crocky Trail and Alton Towers Splash Landings.
