The ‘Football Masterclass’ session took place at Edgeley Park – home of Stockport County FC – with students working in teams to design and build their own stadia, create home and away kits, negotiate sponsor contracts and produce financial forecasts.
At the end of the day, they were tasked with delivering presentations on the decisions they made to the rest of the year group.
Business Teacher Mr Lewis, who organised the day, said: “This has probably been the best Enterprise Day I have been involved with – what made it particularly special was creating a football club at an actual footballing venue, where consequently everyone really bought into the concept.
“I am hugely proud of all of our students, who demonstrated and developed so many of the Future Me and employability characteristics that we seek to develop at Stockport Academy; teamworking; leadership; negotiation; creativity and presentation skills among those.”
