Hundreds of students were invited to Stockport Plaza for the awards ceremony, and were watched on by their families, as well as our staff and governors, as they were recognised for their many achievements on stage.
As well as performances by our choir and steel band, we were joined by our guest speaker Christie Spurling MBE, FRSA, who shared his own experiences of overcoming adversity to setup his own charity, N-GAGE, with the ambition to make a difference to thousands of young people across Greater Manchester.
Among the highlights of the night were five of our students receiving laptops as a reward for five years with 100% attendance, and the introduction of our brand new House Awards, celebrating students in each house who exemplified our school values of Aspiration, Respect and Community.
Principal Mrs McCann said: “Prizegiving is without a doubt one of the highlights of our school calendar and the sense of togetherness and collective support for one another in celebrating individual achievements – not just academic but also outside of the classroom – always makes it an unforgettable night.
“I would like to thank everyone involved in the evening for making it a success – from our students and their families, to our staff, governors, and supportive members of the community.”
